You, as well as your needs, are unique and therefore our therapeutic approach is designed to tailor according to you.

Our approach is primarily influenced by Cognitive Behavioural, Mindfulness, and Emotion Focussed models of therapy as these are currently leading in empirical support, globally.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a form of therapy which focuses on raising our awareness of current behaviours and thinking patterns, and how these form part of a system which effects our experience of emotion in the world. We can change behaviours and thoughts, making it possible to change feelings and experience of life. CBT has emerged as the leading evidence-based practice in psychological therapy in that it can have rapid and measurable clinical change.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a unique, empirically-based approach born out of humanistic and psychodynamic therapies. The method is designed to help increase awareness, acceptance, expression, and regulation of emotion.

Emotions exist to trigger biological responses in the system which informs us of what is important and thus act as a guide to what we need or want. Sometimes, our bodies learn to react to situations in a way which might not be necessary and this can cause distress. When learning about emotions is not enough, EFT focuses on helping you tolerate, regulate, reflect on and express your feelings in the safety of the therapy session so that you may transform these biological responses as they arise day-to-day.
